Overview

The Working Time Clock visualizes your daily schedule as analog 12-hour clocks. Add time blocks for tasks, meetings, breaks, or shifts and the tool instantly paints each block onto a Morning (00:00–12:00) and Evening (12:00–24:00) clock face at minute resolution. It computes per-block and daily totals, flags any overlapping commitments with a conflict color and a warning table, mutes completed blocks, and draws a live red hand showing the current time on both dials.

Common Use Cases

How to Use

1
Give each time block a name, a start time, and an end time.
2
Add as many blocks as needed using the Add button.
3
Read each block's computed duration right next to its inputs.
4
Toggle Done on a block to grey it out on the clocks.
5
Read the Daily Overview for total booked hours, uniquely covered time, and conflict minutes.
6
Inspect the Morning and Evening clocks to see when you are busy.
7
Check the Overlapping Blocks table whenever a conflict color (dark red) appears.

Example Scenario

Visualizing a Consultancy Workday

A freelance consultant blocks out deep work from 08:00–11:00, lunch from 11:00–12:00, and client meetings from 15:00–17:00. The Afternoon clock shows two busy arcs, the overview reports five booked hours, and moving a second meeting into the same slot instantly paints it with the conflict color.

Technical Notes

Clock arcs are rendered at one-minute resolution, so blocks that start or end mid-hour (for example 08:30–09:45) are drawn accurately rather than rounded to whole hours.

A block whose end time is earlier than its start time (for example 22:00–02:00) is treated as crossing midnight and drawn on the evening clock.

Any minute covered by two or more active blocks is painted dark red. The Overlapping Blocks table lists every conflicting pair and the number of overlapping minutes.

Completed blocks are greyed out and no longer count as covered time or as conflicts in the overview.

A red hand is drawn on both dials at the current local time and refreshes every 30 seconds.

Each dial is a standard 12-hour clock face; the Morning dial shows 00:00–12:00 and the Evening dial shows 12:00–24:00.

Common Mistakes

Frequently Asked Questions

A standard analog clock face covers 12 hours, so the day is split into a Morning clock (00:00–12:00) and an Evening clock (12:00–24:00), which are easier to read than a cramped 24-hour dial.

Dark red marks minutes where two or more active blocks overlap. The Overlapping Blocks table lists exactly which blocks collide and for how long.

Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the block is drawn as crossing midnight on the evening dial, for example 22:00 to 02:00.

No. Blocks marked Done are greyed out and excluded from covered-time and conflict calculations so you can focus on what is still scheduled.

The live hand updates every 30 seconds so it stays close to the real time without unnecessary re-renders.
